Site work and paving for a road / highway in Knoxville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade road / highway; and one-story above grade road / highway.
Knox County is seeking a Contractor(s) to furnish and install plastic and painted pavement markings in accordance with State specifications. Only the area of the lines will be measured for payment. The removal of existing broken and solid painted lines will be measured along the center of each line, with only painted line measured for payment. The Contractor must provide all material, labor, supplies, equipment, and expertise to accomplish the work described, provide competent supervision and workers, take precautions to protect persons or property, and be responsible for any resulting damage or injury. The Contractor is solely responsible for claims of wet paint on vehicles and must dash the appropriate line width through all intersections in horizontal and vertical curves. Painted pavement markings must be removed where specified or directed, using methods approved by the Engineer, and painting over markings with black paint or asphalt is not allowed. Any residue or surface damage from removal must be corrected at the Contractors expense. Where plastic marking will replace paint, at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the surface must be exposed for proper installation. For small jobs or projects less than 1,000 feet, large automatic machinery is not required, provided the Contractor uses equipment capable of producing a uniform, acceptable finished product. Temporary markings on final surfaces must be located to underlie or coincide with permanent markings. The latest revision of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for streets and highways is the standard, and all items must meet Tennessee Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highways Standard Specifications. Bidders must deliver sealed bids with all required identification. Alternate bids will not be accepted unless authorized. Respondents must ensure that submittals are properly sealed and delivered to the correct address.
