Jessie George Elementary School Mechanical Replacement Project The Project generally consists of the replacement of existing Unit Ventilators throughout as well as the replacement of the existing pneumatic controls with new controls (Trane Tracer)/thermostats at Jessie George Elementary School. This work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Removal and disposal of existing Unit Ventilators, piping, fin tube, etc. 2. Installation of new Unit Ventilators, lintels, steel, etc. 3. Modification of roof for new condensing unit(s) & exhaust fans. 4. Replacement of shelving along the exterior walls with new. 5. Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Alarm, and Data modifications, relocations and installation associated with new units. 6. Provide existing convectors with new control valves and wall mounted thermostats. 7. Alternates relating to new ceiling and lighting, additional controls + Main Office area HVAC upgrades. (See drawings and specifications for additional information) 8. All other associated work as shown on the drawings and specified herein. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Every bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00. All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. All bids must be accompanied by a Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act as to the Bidder and all subcontractors. All bids must be accompanied by a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue. The Bidder must include with its bid its own Business Registration Certificate and that of all subcontractors. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1 et seq., "The Law Against Discrimination" and Affirmative Action, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. This project is a school facilities project as defined in the Education Facilities Construction and Financing Act, N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-1 et seq. and will be funded in part with grant monies from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA). All contractors and subcontractors engaged by the Board to work on this project shall agree to be bound by the terms of any Grant Agreement entered into between the Board and the SDA, which will be available for inspection at the Board office during business hours. No bidder who is on the State Treasurer's or the Federal Government's List of Debarred, Suspended or Disqualified Bidders shall be eligible to bid on this project. Bids must be submitted to the Westwood Regional Board of Education. All bids will be opened and read to the public at that time by the School Business Administrator at the board offices. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty days from the opening of the bids. The Westwood Regional Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any minor informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law if it is in the best interest of the Board of Education. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements.
