Renovation of an educational facility in Branford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project consists of a design and development of a memorial area consisting of walls, surface treatments and landscaping in the area adjacent to the existing tennis court complex. The Site is assumed to be approximately less than 1/4-acre in area. Project Location: _ Tennis Courts at Branford High School, 185 East Main Street, Branford, CT, 06405 Work Included: The scope of work for this project generally includes, but is not limited to, the following major elements: Selective demolition. Offsite disposal of all removed materials. Brush Clearing Installation of drainage systems Site work associated with new walls, walkways and memorial garden area. Installation of segmental block walls, new bituminous concrete walkways and precast curbing. Amending, screening and spreading of topsoil Turf establishment. Question Deadline January 26, 2026 : All Requests for Information (RFI) for interpretations and/or clarifications to the Bid Documents and Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to Brendan Leddy at The Branford Public Schools, email: bleddy@branfordschools.org. Right to reject: The Town of Branford (Owner) reserve the right to accept or reject all or any part of a bid, or to waive any informalities, irregularities, or technical defects in the Bids. The Owner may make any investigations as they deem necessary to determine the responsibility, qualifications and ability of Bidder to perform the work, and Bidders shall furnish the Owner all such information and data for this purpose as the Owner may require. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, without stating reasons therefore, and to waive any informality in the bidding. All bids shall be good for a period of Ninety (90) calendar days from the Bid Date, unless otherwise noted. Should there be reasons why the contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement. 9.1 Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, or to the extent permitted by Article 9.3, or Letter of Credit. 9.2 Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid. The Bid Bond shall ensure the execution of the Subcontract Agreement and the furnishing of the surety bond or bonds by the successful bidder, as required by the Bid Documents and Contract Documents. 9.3 Bidders may provide, in lieu of a Bid Bond, a letter of credit in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount for any bid that is less than One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) and in the amount equal to twenty five percent (25%) of the Bid amount that is equal to or in excess of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000). 9.4 The Town of Branford will have the right to retain the Bid Security of bidders to whom an award is being considered until either (a) the Subcontract Agreement has been executed and bonds, if required have been furnished, or (b) the specified time has elapsed so the Bids may be withdrawn, or (c) all Bids have been rejected. 9.5 Except as provided in Article 9.6, all successful Bidders will be required to furnish a Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the total Contract Amount within ten (10) calendar days after the receipt of the Subcontract Agreement. Such Bonds shall name The Town of Branford as obligees with rights on the Bonds jointly and severally. 9.6 Bidders may provide, in lieu of a Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond, a letter of credit in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount for any bid that is less than One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) and in the amount equal to twenty five percent (25%) of the Bid amount that is equal to or in excess of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000). The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. A Bid not accompanied by a required Bid Security or by other data required by the Bid Documents, or a Bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular is subject to rejection. A Bid which is conditional or obscure or which contains any additional information not called for in the Bid Documents is subject to rejection. The Contractor shall commence work within seven (7) days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and, unless an extension of time shall be made in the manner herein provided, shall progress therewith to final completion within sixty (60) consecutive calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed excluding the time required to complete soil remediation by others.
