Renovation of an educational facility in Grand Ridge, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.
The work consists of removal and replacement of the existing exterior window assembly, removal and replacement of exterior framed wall construction and exterior cladding, removal and replacement of exterior entrance doors and frames, and additional work as indicated. Bidders are required to provide bid security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid amount proposed, in the form of a certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Owner, or a bid bond, to accompany the bid at time of submission. The successful bidder will be required to provide satisfactory performance bond and labor & material payment bond covering the full performance of the contract, with the costs included in the bid proposal. The successful bidder must assure non-discrimination in employment based on race, creed, color, sex, age, or national origin, provide documentation of participation in apprenticeship and training programs registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, and comply with relevant Illinois laws related to wage rates, discrimination, sexual harassment, substance abuse prevention, and equal employment opportunity. All contractor bonds must guarantee the performance of the prevailing wage clause, and a criminal background investigation for all employees involved in the project must be furnished and paid for by the contractor. Additional requirements and instructions are included in the Instructions to Bidders and the Bid Documents. Scope of Work a. The work consists of removal and replacement of the existing exterior window assembly, removal and replacement of exterior framed wall construction and exterior cladding, and additional work as indicated. The above mentioned work is located in classrooms surround the existing courtyard. b. Removal and replacement of classroom windows in the 2013 Building addition as indicated in the contract documents. c. Removal and replacement of existing casework in rooms indicated in the contract documents. d. Owner under separate contract will remove and reinstall the existing mini-split air conditioning units, wall mounted condensing and all associated piping and conduits. Successful general contractor will be required to coordinate his work with the owner's contractor. e. Owner under separate contract will remove existing windows in rooms, as these windows contain asbestos sealant and window putty. Schedule of this work will be in around 4 th of July. f. Additional work as indicated in documents *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
