Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Columbus, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade municipal facility.
This project includes all items related to the construction of a new pavilion for the courthouse in Columbus, Mississippi. All of the work of this Contract is located in right-of-way or on property of the OWNER. The Contractor is responsible to perform all work and furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and drawings. Each contractor submitting a bid in excess of $50,000.00 must show on his bid and on the face of the envelope containing the bid, his Certificate of Responsibility Number as required by Mississippi law. If the bid does not exceed $50,000.00, a notation so stating must appear on the face of the envelope. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside as BID ENCLOSED "COURTHOUSE PAVILION", with the company name and address. If mailed, the sealed bid envelope must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to Lowndes County Chancery Clerk. Electronic bids may be submitted online and must include a document representing the cover of the envelope containing all required items. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of his bid, payable to Lowndes County Board of Supervisors. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin. The Lowndes County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informality. Bid Submission note* Any bid received after deadline will be returned unopened. Bids or alterations by fax or phone will not be accepted. Electronic bids shall be accepted, if received prior to the bid date and time. When bids are submitted electronically, the same requirements for submitting sealed bids shall apply. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, services and incidentals to complete all work required by these Specifications and as shown on the Drawings. B. The CONTRACTOR shall perform the work complete, in place, and ready for continuous service, and shall include repairs, testing, permits, cleanup, replacements and restoration required as a result of damages caused during this construction. C. All materials, equipment, skills, tools and labor which are reasonable and necessary for the proper completion of the work in a substantial manner and in compliance with the requirements stated or implied by these Specifications or Drawings shall by furnished and installed by the CONTRACTOR without additional compensation, whether specifically indicated in the Contract Documents or not. D. The CONTRACTOR shall comply with all county, state, federal, and other codes which are applicable to the proposed construction work. INTERPRETATIONS No oral interpretation made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the Contract Documents shall be considered an effective modification of any of the provisions of the Contract Documents. Written requests for interpretation of the Plans and Specifications shall be submitted to the Engineer prior to opening of Proposals so that a formal decision can be given in writing to all known prospective Bidders in the form of an Addendum. The Contract Document contains the provisions required for the construction of the Project. Information obtained from an officer, agent, or employee of the Owner or any other person shall not affect the risks or obligations assumed by the Contractor or relieve him from fulfilling any of the conditions of the Contract.
