Site work for a water / sewer project in Opelika, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The work includes the replacement of the South 7th Street Water Main as follows: approximately 800 linear feet of 16-inch diameter ductile iron water main, approximately 2,400 linear feet of 12-inch diameter ductile iron water main, and approximately 860 linear feet of 8-inch, 6-inch, and 4-inch diameter ductile iron water main. The project also involves associated water service installations and transfers, water main appurtenances and fittings, and associated asphalt paving replacement. Bidders are required to submit a cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Water Works Board of the City of Opelika in an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount (maximum $10,000). Performance and payment bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents will be necessary at contract signing. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the engineer and, for bids exceeding the limit set by the state licensing board, bidders must be licensed under applicable state law and display their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope. The Work included in this Contract generally consists of the installation of potable water mains and appurtenances. The requirements of this Section and Division 1 apply to all of the Contract Documents.
