Calvert County Public Schools is requesting qualification packages from qualified architectural firms with proven experience with the Maryland Public School Construction Program to provide educational program development, planning, design, bidding and construction administration services for the co-located Calvert Elementary School/Calvert Country facility and associated site improvements. The firms should have experience assisting LEAs in educational program development, planning, design, and construction of public K-12 facilities requiring phased while occupied construction on spatially challenged sites. The team should show diverse experience in Construction Manager at Risk delivery, Net-Zero-ready design, phased project execution, and new utility installations while maintaining existing systems. Emphasis is on innovative designs for co-located facilities and Special Education facility design. The work includes developing educational specifications, early feasibility study work related to net-zero readiness, overall site usage, and a limited traffic study as part of conceptual design/early schematic design phase. Qualified architectural design firms need to be pre-qualified and submit three paper copies and one electronic copy on a USB drive, including a one-page letter of interest and AIA Standard Form 330 for both the architectural firm and MEP sub-consultant, demonstrating relevant experience in sustainable design, energy modeling, and Net-Zero strategies for public K-12 educational facilities. Attendance at the Pre-Proposal Meeting by the prime architectural firm is required to be considered in the selection process. There is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal of two percent, and the A/E is encouraged to use a diverse group of consultants to meet the goal.
