Site work for a water / sewer project in Pensacola, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Escambia County is seeking the services of a licensed marine contractor with dredging experience to dredge the entryway of Lafitte Cove Canal. The contractor is to mechanically dredge within the permitted 200' x 65' area to -5.0' Mean Low Water at the entrance of Lafitte Cove Canal (See attached ACOE and FDEP permits for exact dredge area). The estimated dredged quantity per dredge event is approximately 800 cubic yards. The dredged material is to be transported to an upland site located south of Pensacola Beach Blvd. Water Towers (See attached Dredge Site and Dredge transport Site Maps). Dredging work shall begin on the Eastern portion of dredge area and proceed towards the West in order to achieve desired results of maintaining the channel without exceeding total amount of sediment to be removed. With County approval, the contractor is to dredge the canal entryway within the permitted area two to three times per year (as deemed necessary by Escambia County to maintain channel navigability within permit and budget limitations). The months in which to dredge will be determined at the time of contractor selection; however, the anticipated months are approximately February, July-August, and October-November (if necessary) of each year within the contractual length of service. Unless absolutely necessary to maintain navigation within Lafitte Cove Canal, dredging shall be avoided when shorebirds are nesting within the dredge material discharge site. Work to be completed before March 14th, 2026. No Work may be performed during protected shorebird nesting season (spring-summer months.) Question Deadline 11/24/2025 at 1:00 PM CT The contractor is to mechanically dredge within the permitted 200' x 65' area to -5.0' Mean Low Water at the entrance of Lafitte Cove Canal (See attached ACOE and FDEP permits for exact dredge area). Description of Work The contractor shall perform the following activities: Permitting - The contractor shall verify that all required permits are active, and if permits need attention, then the contractor shall address accordingly. See permits attached herein. Dredging - The contractor is to mechanically dredge within the permitted 200' x 65' area to -5.0' Mean Low Water at the entrance to Lafitte Cove Canal two to three times per year. The estimated dredged quantity per dredge event is approximately 800 cubic yards. Dredged quantity will be determined by quantity of sediment removed (measured in sediment containers). Escambia County will provide a vertical datum, and will measure post-dredging depths to confirm suitability of dredging results. Transport and Discharge - The contractor is to transport and discharge the dredged materials to the pre-determined upland discharge site (vacant parcel south of the existing Pensacola Beach Water Towers located on the east side of the Little Sabine Inlet). Invoicing - As stated above, the contractor is to receive written approval from the County PM prior to conducting each dredging activity, list the days for which the dredging is to occur, perform the work, and then submit an accurate invoice to the County PM for payment of work completed. Length of Services Services to be rendered by the contractor, as herein described, will commence immediately upon receiving the Notice to Proceed (NTP) from the County. The contract will be established for one year from the NTP issuance date, with an option to renew for additional one-year periods.
