The work involves furnishing the labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the construction of the Trades Building. This includes mobilization, site work, concrete foundation, building erection, and electrical installation. Each proposal shall be a single Prime Contract for a Lump Sum Amount and must be accompanied with a bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 in a separate sealed envelope in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid. If a Bid Bond is submitted, it must be on the form identified within the Contract Documents. Bidders may inspect the site after notifying the owner. The owner is an exempt entity for sales tax on this project. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in bids received. The work under the contract may actively commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed anticipated to be on or before December 19, 2025, and shall be substantially completed by July 31, 2026. This project is subject to liquidated damages as described within the project manual. A Notice to Proceed will be issued to the Contractor within ten (10) business days of the approval of the construction contract.
