Demolition and site work for a residential development in Westwood, Kentucky. Completed plans call civil work for a residential development.
The work involves the removal of all structures at 425 30th Street and 429 30th Street, Ashland, KY. All buildings and structures must be torn down in accordance with best practices, all local ordinances, regulations, and the Kentucky Building Code. The contractor is responsible for removing fences, walls, sheds, garages, blacktop, foundation, and any other encumbrances from the lot as directed. Any holes, excavations, or hazards resulting from the work must be eliminated unless otherwise specified. The use of explosives is strictly prohibited. The City will perform any required asbestos survey and abatement prior to demolition. All property lines or jointly-owned items must remain unless specifically directed otherwise. Walls, foundations, and masonry must be removed to surface elevation unless directed otherwise. Concrete slabs, driveways, stairs, sidewalks (between street sidewalk and house), garages, outbuildings, sheds, carports, tires, tanks, pipe, wire, and blacktop are to be removed unless noted otherwise. Basement or cellar floors must be broken up for drainage, and basements must be filled to ground level with noncombustible material, thoroughly compacted, and finished to rough grade. The site must be left clean. Erosion control measures such as grass seed, straw, or silt fence may be required. Any exposed hollows under sidewalks must be filled, and sidewalk damage must be repaired to City specifications. The surrounding area must be adequately protected by barricades during demolition. Adjacent sidewalks must be kept clear of debris and maintained during non-working hours. The contractor must ensure utility disconnection and proper capping, and remove the water line to the service meter and gas line to the property line. All sewer connections must be sealed according to City procedures and under proper inspection.
