Sealed bids are invited for the James Wood Middle School Fire Alarm Replacement located at 1313 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia. The work involves the complete replacement of the existing fire alarm system with a new and expanded system that meets current code requirements. The existing system must remain operational until the new system is complete, tested, and approved. Bidders must refer to the drawings and specifications prepared by RRMM Architects. A. The project is generally described as the complete replacement of the existing fire alarm system with a new and expanded fire alarm system that meets current code requirements. All existing fire alarm devices shall remain in place and operational until the new fire alarm system is installed, operational, tested and approved by the local authorities having jurisdiction. Once the new fire alarm system has been approved then the existing fire alarm system shall be completely demolished. New fire alarm devices shall include, but are not limited to: smoke detectors, heat detectors, visual devices, audio devices, audio/visual devices, duct smoke detectors, pull stations, door hold-opens, flow switches, carbon monoxide detectors, annunciator panel, fire alarm control panel, NAC panels, monitor and relay modules, and all other components that make up a complete fire alarm system.
