The City of Lockhart (City) will be requesting proposals from qualified waste management firms to provide solid waste collection and recycling services to residents and businesses. The purpose of this notice is to provide a summary of the proposed services and the purpose of the contract to the public in compliance with H.B. 5057. The services to be provided will include Residential Trash Collection, Residential Recycling Collection, Residential Yard, Brush, and Bulky Waste Collection, Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection, and Commercial Trash and Recycling Collection. In addition, the contractor will also be responsible for the disposal and processing of collected materials. Contract Changes Description: The City is considering changes to Residential Trash Collection, Residential Recycling Collection, Residential Yard, Brush, and Bulky Waste Collection, Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection, and Commercial Trash and Recycling Collection. Potential contract changes include: o Change from a 5-year contract to a 7-year contract o Change from opt-in to universal recycling for Residential Recycling Collection o Service delivery and frequency changes to Yard, Brush, and Bulky Collection o Addition of Special Event Trash and Recycling Collection Service o Optional addition of Household Hazardous Waste Collection Service o Addition of optional Commercial Recycling Collection o Changes to Collection Cart sizes and appearance standards o Addition of glass and plastics #3-#7 into Recycling Program Materials o Changes to contract terms and conditions.
