The Project consists of the removal of the existing nurse call systems and the installation of a new Rauland Responder 5 Nurse Call system at UC San Diego Medical Center - Hillcrest, located at 200 West Arbor Drive, San Diego, California 92103. Work shall occur within active patient care environments, including the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Labor and Delivery (L&D)/NICU, Pre-Op/PACU, and medical/surgical units on the 2nd, 6th, and 7th floors. The facility is a Type I, fully sprinklered, eleven (11)-story, fire-resistive hospital classified as an I-2 occupancy. All Work shall comply with applicable OSHPD/HCAI requirements, including seismic compliance requirements (NPC-2 and SPC-2), infection control protocols, interim life safety measures, and hospital safety standards. All equipment supports and anchorage shall comply with applicable seismic requirements. Prequalified B General Contractors The Work shall include furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, coordination, testing, and services necessary to provide a complete, fully functional, and operational Rauland Responder 5 Nurse Call and Code Blue system in accordance with the Contract Documents, Division 27 specifications, and HCAI-approved drawings. Estimated project duration is 210 calendar days. There is no charge for the Bid Documents which will be made available to the prequalified bidders. Only prequalified bidders will be allowed to submit a Bid on this project. The following bidders have been prequalified to bid on this project: Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B -General Building Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
