Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in LeClaire, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade water / sewer project.

The work performed includes approximately 1,007 linear feet of 4" PVC force main by a combination of trenched and trenchless methods, 10 linear feet of 8" PVC gravity sewer, lift station (including wet well with submersible pumps, valve vault, and meter vault), 6" thick PCC access drive for the lift station site, site fencing, water service, associated electrical controls and appurtenances, erosion control, seeding, and clean up. Also included is a bid alternate for an emergency backup generator. Each bidder shall accompany the bid with a bid security, in a separate envelope, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) and shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the City. The successful bidder will furnish after the award of the contract a corporate surety bond or bonds, acceptable to the City, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equivalent to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract. Payment to the contractor will be on the basis of monthly estimates equivalent to ninety seven percent (97%) of the contract value of the work completed and payments made to material suppliers for materials ordered specifically for the project or delivered to the site during the preceding calendar month. The contractor will prepare a partial payment estimate, subject to the approval of the engineer, who will certify to the City for payment each approved estimate. Such monthly payments shall in no way be construed as an act of acceptance for any part of the work partially or totally completed.
