Site work and paving for a road / highway in Rayne, Louisiana. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade road / highway.
The work consists of cold planing, asphaltic concrete widening, patching, leveling, and asphaltic concrete overlay. Other incidentals include, but are not limited to, adjusting manholes and valve boxes. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the City of Rayne, LA, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid plus additive alternates. If a bid bond is used, specific requirements for surety or insurance companies apply. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least forty-five (45) days after the bid opening. Performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the contract will be required. Bids will be evaluated on the lowest responsible bid that is in compliance with the specifications. Contractors submitting bids of $50,000.00 or more must certify licensure under the relevant Louisiana Revised Statutes and specify their license number on the sealed envelope. Bids not meeting these requirements will be rejected and not read. Contractors must be licensed for Highways, Streets, and Bridge Construction. Each bid must be submitted only on the bid form provided with the specifications.
