The contract consists of water main installation, connections to existing water mains, and site restoration throughout the project area. Bidders must obtain a set of Contract Documents and all Addenda, and hard copies can be arranged through REV at the bidder's expense. Each bid must include a certified or bank cashier’s check payable to the Owner, or a Bid Bond from a qualified surety, in an amount not less than five percent of the bid. Bidders must submit an "Iranian Investment Activities Certification" in compliance with General Municipal Law 103-g and a “Certification of Compliance with New York State Labor Law Section Two Hundred One-G" regarding a written sexual harassment prevention policy. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds and necessary insurance certificates within ten days of a Notice of Award. A non-collusive bidding certification is also required. Bidders must observe employment conditions, minimum wage rates, and be registered with the NYS Bureau of Public Work and Prevailing Wage Enforcement, supplying evidence with their bid. Anti-discrimination provisions per Sections 290-301 of New York Executive Law also apply. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and accept any proposal deemed in its best interest. General The work included under this Project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary for the construction of water mains, including pipes, valves, fittings, hydrants, and site restoration. The work is to be performed for the Jericho Water District along Store Hill Road in the Hamlet of Jericho. Detailed work requirements are contained in the Drawings and Specifications. Work Included The Contractor shall furnish all labor, superintendent, materials, power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies and other means of construction necessary or proper to performing and completing the work. The Contractor shall protect the work during construction and shall perform and complete the work in the manner best calculated to promote rapid construction consistent with safety of life and property and to the satisfaction of the Engineer and in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall clean up the work and maintain it during and after construction and shall do all work and pay all costs incidental thereto. The Contractor shall repair and/or replace, equal to previous condition, all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during the performance of the work.
