The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and means to construct various improvements for Childs Road & Train Station Sidewalks, as depicted in the contract documents. Principal items of work include mobilization, drums, breakaway barricade, traffic cones, construction sign, traffic director/flagger, site clearing & grading, tree removal, installation of 4" and 6" thick concrete sidewalks (reinforced as specified), detectable warning surfaces, granite block curb, patterned crosswalk, asphalt repair strip, fertilizing and seeding, and for train station work, includes masonry wall repointing and concrete vertical curb. Bids must be submitted in the bound project document book, enclosed in an opaque, sealed envelope and marked appropriately. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee (check or bond) for at least 10% of the bid (not to exceed $20,000), a certificate from a surety company, statement of corporate ownership, listing of subcontractors, notarized non-collusion affidavit, notarized bidder's affidavit, acknowledgment of receipt of changes to bid documents form, and a submission checklist. The bid also requires compliance with NJ local public contracts law, public works contractors' registration, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action regulations, Department of Labor safety and health regulations, and prevailing wage rates. The Borough reserves the right to waive minor defects and informalities, reject any/all bids, or accept bids in the best interest of the Borough. Withdrawal of bids is not allowed within sixty days after opening.
