Furnishing Four (4) Single-phase Power Transformers. A certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Elizabeth City or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by a Corporate Surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds in the amount equal to five (5) percent of the total proposal shall be submitted with each proposal. Proposals may not be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the date of receipt. The bid deposit shall be retained by the City of Elizabeth City if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract or fails to provide the required bonds, within ten (10) days after the award of the contract. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a separate one hundred (100) percent Performance Bond on the forms included as part of the Contract Documents. The Performance Bond shall be in full force and effect for one (1) year after the date of final acceptance of the project by the City of Elizabeth City. Contract and Performance Bonds are not to be completed at the time of this proposal and are -included in order to advise the Bidder as to form. The City of Elizabeth City invites and encourages participation in this bidding process by minority business enterprises. The City of Elizabeth City reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals and to accept any combination of proposals which are deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
