HARD COPY SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 2:00 PM 12/18/2025 The City of Norwalk is requesting bids from qualified contractors to install new light poles at Calf Pasture Beach. Questions Due Date: Dec 8th 2025, 2:00 PM EST Questions Online Portal All questions concerning this solicitation must be directed, via e-mail, to Sharon Conners, Purchasing Agent at sconners@norwalkct.gov a. General o All new light fixtures will be supplied by the City. o Contractor to provide all necessary electrical fittings, wiring, hardware, and miscellaneous materials required for installation. o Per-pole pricing required, based on a minimum of 100 poles. o Contractor responsible for unloading fixtures upon delivery and for inspection for shipping damage. o Temporary storage of new fixtures is permitted on-site at Calf Pasture Beach in a location designated by the City. o Contractor responsible for removal, disposal, and replacement of existing fixtures. o All old fixtures must be disposed of properly off-site on the same day as removal (or as directed by the City). o Bolt patterns for new fixtures match existing. o All packaging material from the new fixtures must be disposed offsite by the contractor. b. Electrical / Installation Details o Contractor to inspect and verify the condition of existing poles, bases, and wiring prior to installation. o Any damaged conduit, wiring, or bases discovered must be reported to the City immediately. o Contractor responsible for reconnecting to existing power and verifying fixture operation. o All work shall comply with NEC (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes. c. Work Coordination o Contractor shall coordinate work schedule with the City to minimize disruption to public access and events at Calf Pasture Beach. o Contractor to provide traffic/pedestrian control and safety barriers as needed during work. o Work hours limited to City-approved daytime hours (e.g., 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday- Friday). d. Quality and Warranty o Contractor shall test and verify operation of each new fixture after installation. Work shall include a one-year workmanship warranty on installation and connections. o Any defective installation or connection shall be repaired at no cost to the City. e. Safety / Environmental o Contractor responsible for proper disposal or recycling of old fixtures per EPA and local hazardous waste regulations (especially if any contain mercury or other hazardous components). o Contractor must follow OSHA safety standards and maintain all required insurance and licenses. Liquidated damages as defined in Article 27 of the Norwalk General Conditions for Construction will be $200.00 per day
