The Universite du Quebec a Montreal, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, with its head office at 1430 Saint-Denis Street, H2X 3J8, Montreal, Quebec, is requesting bids for renovation work on the entrance to the Sports Center located at 1212 Rue Sanguinet in Montreal. Following water infiltration and delamination observed on the concrete slab surfaces of the Sports Center's (SC) large gymnasium, corrective work has been planned. This work includes, but is not limited to: - Demolition and partial reconstruction of the full-thickness structural slab, the structural intrados slab, and the concrete screed. (Specialist appointed by the owner - coordination and project management only); - Demolition and reconstruction of the exterior sidewalk, including excavation and backfilling. (Specialist appointed by the owner - coordination and project management only); - Exploratory demolition around the post-tension anchors in the gymnasium. (Specialist appointed by the Owner - coordination and project management only); - New waterproofing membrane and new resin floor finish with quartz aggregate; - Enlargement and replacement of the perforated scraper grid; - Replacement of the curtain wall, including replacement of exterior doors and hardware; - Replacement of interior doors and frames in the vestibule, including hardware; - Reinstallation of acoustic panel on gymnasium beam; - Smoothing of finishes around the perimeter of the work area; - New entrance carpet; - And all related work resulting from these corrective measures. The works also include all development, demolition, protection, levelling and other works necessary for the complete completion of the Structure and all related works such as: site development and cleaning, temporary protection works, repairs and necessary drilling. The Contractor must take into account that the building's users and occupants will continue their activities during the work. The main entrance will be relocated to allow the work to proceed, but secondary access must remain secure and the construction site must not obstruct access. The Contractor must take steps to minimise inconvenience to users and staff. The Contractor shall ensure that users have access to the premises and facilities in a safe, healthy and uninterrupted manner. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for controlling access to the premises and the construction site. In situations where the Contractor must perform work elsewhere in the building or in cases where it must shut down electromechanical services, it shall do so outside of normal hours of occupancy by users, in accordance with the Owner's authorizations. Finally, the Contractor shall be fully responsible for health, safety and temporary protection at the construction site, including specialists appointed by the Owner.
