Sealed proposals are requested for Great Island Early Access. Proposal specifications are available online and at the Office of the Selectmen in Darien Town Hall. The Town encourages proposals from Minority/Women’s Business Enterprises and reserves the right to reject any proposal. the Town’s authorized contact for all matters concerning this RFP is: Ms. Jennifer Charneski Town Administrator Town Hall 2 Renshaw Road Darien, CT 06820 jcharneski@darienct.gov Question Deadline 12/08/2025 at 3:00 PM ET Scope of Design Services The design services include the following major construction elements (see diagram to be provided): 1. Modifications to the existing traffic circle as required for the new traffic pattern. 2. Reconstruction of the North Causeway from the traffic circle to the Stables area (see diagram). 3. Construction of a visitor road serving new parking areas, beginning west of the Greenhouse and looping back to the North Causeway near the Stables area (see diagram). 4. Visitor automobile and ADA-compliant parking areas. 5. Passenger and shuttle drop-off locations. 6. Overflow "lawn" parking. 7. Road and site drainage and storm-water management required by new construction. 8. "Future" underground utility corridors (electrical, water, communications, and sewer) from the end of 23A and the traffic circle to the exterior of the Root Cellar. 9. Pedestrian sidewalk adjacent to North Causeway and separate bike parking. 10. Vehicular gates at (a) the end of the North Causeway and (b) the entrance to the South Causeway. 11. Design of site lighting for roads, parking areas, and pedestrian walkways. 12. Design and placement of site furnishings (bike racks, bollards, waste receptacles) and wayfinding signage consistent with the Great Island visual identity. 13. The landscape design shall include visual screening of parking areas, replacement plantings to offset the anticipated loss of trees or vegetation resulting from road and parking area construction, and additional plantings as needed in other areas. Plant materials shall be limited to native species appropriate to the region
