As of December 10, 2025, a design team and contractor have been identified. Oklahoma's Board of Regents voted to approve renovations to the west side of Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and officially unveiled its plans for "The Palace Project." The upcoming phase of the athletic department's master plan for stadium renovations is set to begin after the 2027 season and will be completed before the start of the 2029 campaign as part of a project that's projected to cost $450 million. The renovations to the west side will introduce new gates on that side of the stadium aimed at improving fan-entry experience, as well as new ground- and second-level concourses that connect to the north and south end zones. The west concourse and upper deck will also be updated, with new elevators, improved access point, expanded restrooms and improved concession stands. All chairback and bench seating will be replaced, with additional ADA options added. There will also be a new fan area on the west upper deck aimed at providing ticket holders with a "unique common space" within the stadium. Also included in this phase of the project is a new press box spanning the length of the west side and stationed atop the upper deck, with a camera deck and a level for press, game operations, emergency management, television and radio broadcast crews and coaching booths. Among the other key additions to the project is the construction of 47 new suites, 64 loge boxes with seating for up to 280 guests, as well as an estimated 4,000 new club seats. There will also be six premium club and lounge areas that will serve fans in those areas.
