Demolition for a residential development in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade residential development.
9 75th Street - Demolition & Removal The project location is the small existing house located at 9 75th Street (Plum Island), Newburyport, MA01950. The scope of the work includes the complete demolition of a small vacant residential structure, and removal of any/all debris from the site to two feet below existing grade (including disposal of the adjacent driveway asphalt). The existing house (approx.. 24' x 30') is a small wood frame structure on top of a CMU block wall and open pier supports surrounding an above-grade basement with concrete slab on grade. A raised wood deck surrounds the house on two sides. See site/architectural drawings and photos included with this bid package. The scope of work for the base bid includes, but is not limited to, the following items: o Removal of an in-basement but above-ground residential oil storage tank, the existing boiler, water heater/tank, fridge, stove, electrical panel and related utilities, etc. o Disconnection of any existing utilities, in coordination with the City's Water/Sewer Divisions (in the Department of Public Services), National Grid and/or others as required. o Demolition and removal of the concrete floor slab and associated foundations to a depth of 2 feet below grade. o Site clearance and clean-up, including the removal and disposal of construction and demolition waste debris o Utility cutting, capping, and/or abandonment Note: Further site restoration will be performed by another contractor following demolition under this contact scope (to include additional compatible sand and dune grasses only). Sealed bids are requested for the Demolition & Removal of 9 75th Street. Bids are to be submitted at the Office of the Water/Sewer Business Manager. The bidding and award of the contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L Chapter 149. The City reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids or take other action as deemed in the best interest of the City. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development per Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive, must be paid. Question Deadline 12/18/2025 Requests for clarifications by a prospective Bidder regarding the specifications, or other bid documents must be presented in writing, via email (twatkins@Newburyportma.gov) Written addenda resulting from requests for clarifications will be delivered to all listed holders of the Bid Documents no later than two (2) business days prior to the bid opening. The term of this Contract shall commence on or around December 26, 2025 and shall terminate by May 30, 2026,
