Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The bidding and award of this contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L Chapter 30, 39M. Contract award is subject to the approval of the Mayor. The City reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids or take whatever other action may be deemed necessary to be in the best interest of the City. Newburyport is an affirmative action/equal opportunity purchaser. Location and Work to be Done/Scope of Services Scope of Work for the Atkinson Common Lily Pond Coping Project, located at 388 High St., Newburyport, MA includes but is not limited to: installation of 2" thick by 12" wide bluestone coping (half bullnose) on top of the existing brick coping, repairing all disturbed areas, and any potential add alternates as listed. All work incidental thereto shall be in accordance with the project manual, design plans and specifications and attached hereto, which are incorporated herein by reference. Additionally, the contactor must adhere to all other requirements of this bid package and written specifications, inclusive. Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be done may be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the Owner or its Architect/Engineer and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. Base bid work includes installing a bluestone coping over the existing paver coping using a landscape epoxy, as presented on Part A of the attached Project Detail (Attachment A). Add Alternate work includes removing the existing paver, the asphalt liner being saw cut, and the new bluestone coping being installed on a mortar setting bed, as presented on Part B of the attached Project Detail (Attachment A). Attachment B is an Assessor Map showing the approximate linear footage of the coping, as well as an aerial view of the park, locating the pond. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, machinery, apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies, and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the Work and as herein specified. The Work to be done and paid for under any item shall not be limited to the exact extent mentioned or described but shall include all incidental work necessary or customarily done for the completion of that item. The City reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest, most eligible bidder for either the base bid or add alt price.
