The work consists of removing and replacing four pumps in the FTW/WWW Building and associated mechanical work. Existing Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) will be removed and salvaged. Six new VFDs will be installed. New Power Panels and associated electrical work is included. The work also includes the installation of more than 50 cathodic protection test stations. Approximately 660 linear feet of internal joint bonding is required in 36-inch diameter pipe. Around 300 linear feet of external joint bonding on 8-inch or 12-inch buried pipe is required. Other work includes external joint bonding inside structures, installation of DC Blockers, installation of dielectric unions, installation of insulating flange kits, and installation of buried galvanic anodes. Only preapproved bidders will be allowed to submit a sealed bid. A mandatory prebid site visit and prebid conference is required for all bidders. Additional requirements and instructions to bidders are outlined in Section 00 21 13, Instructions to Bidders. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any formality or technicality in a bid, and to award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, or to reject for nonqualification or nonresponsiveness to requirements. Any bid received from a bidder who is not preapproved or received after the closing time will be returned unopened. Pre-qualification requirements: Contractor preapproval is required by the owner and only preapproved bidders will be allowed to submit a sealed bid. Pre-bid desp-A mandatory prebid conference and site visit will be held to field review the proposed construction area, and will include a question and answer period.
