Renovation of a detention facility in Benton, Arkansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 17,200-square-foot, one-story above grade detention facility.
Saline County, Arkansas, through its Sheriff's Office, is seeking qualified contractors to provide professional concrete grinding and polishing services for all floor surfaces within the existing Saline County Detention Center. To completely grind and polish the existing concrete floors throughout the Saline County Detention Center to a specified finish level, ensuring long-term durability, chemical resistance, and ease of cleaning in a high-security institutional environment. The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and necessary incidentals to complete the concrete grinding and polishing project in strict accordance with these specifications. 2.1 Project Location and Areas The work covers all accessible existing concrete floors within the Saline County Detention Center. This includes, but is not limited to: o Eight Inmate Housing Pods at 1900 square feet each. o Main Hallways and Corridors o Ancillary and Support Spaces Note: The total estimated square footage is approximately 17,200 Required steps include: - Thorough cleaning and preparation of all surfaces, including removal of coatings, sealants, residue, and debris. - Heavy grinding to level the floor and remove imperfections. - Application of a lithium-based silicate densifier/hardener. - Progressive polishing using finer diamond tooling to achieve the specified gloss level. - Application of a high-quality, penetrating stain guard/sealer. - Protection of existing coving, wall bases, and fixtures during all phases. Work must be performed in an active detention facility and scheduled in phases to minimize disruption and maintain facility security. Contractors must provide a proposed phasing plan and schedule, with the understanding that work may be required during off-peak hours or as coordinated with jail maintenance. Proposals should include contractor information and qualifications, a detailed description of the proposed process, a phasing plan and work schedule, a dust and noise control plan, and a fixed all-inclusive price for the project.
