Renovation of an educational facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,056-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
Project includes removal and replacement of windows and doors on the exterior B-Wing on the Parkland College campus, covering approximately 53 windows of 1,056 square feet and 8 doors. Work also includes modification of existing wood trim and painting of trim on interior and exterior. The construction cost range is anticipated to be under $300,000. The project will be constructed under a single prime contract. This project is tax-exempt. The contractor shall pay or cause to be paid not less than the prevailing rates of wages as found by the Owner or the Illinois Department of Labor or as determined by the Court on Review to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics engaged in the work. The contractor shall be responsible for notifying all subcontractors of this requirement, the prevailing rates, and any revisions thereto. Bid Submittal Instructions: Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids, prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders, at the specified location. Bids will thereafter be publicly opened and read aloud. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities and irregularities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed most favorable to their interest, after all bids have been examined and evaluated. A bid bond, bank draft, or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid proposal shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will furnish satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum, execute the contract, and proceed with the work. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 45 days after the date of opening thereof. Bidders must be properly licensed for their respective trades and able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the work. The successful bidder is required to furnish a Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in the full amount of the contracts.
