The scope of work consists of roof replacement on campus Building D and the adjacent tunnel between Buildings C and D. The roof replacement is a combination of metal shingles, approximately 38,400 square feet, and fully adhered TPO membrane roofing, approximately 4,500 square feet, with all associated sheet metal flashings and trim. The project includes removal and infill of four existing clerestory dormers at roof level, including roof framing, and interior lighting and ceiling at the corridor level. The project will be constructed under a single contract, with an anticipated construction cost under $800,000. The project is tax-exempt and subject to prevailing wage requirements by Illinois law. Bidders must submit sealed lump sum bids, accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft, or certified check in the amount of ten percent of the base bid proposal. If awarded the contract, the bidder must furnish performance bonds and labor and material payment bonds totaling one hundred percent of the contract sum. Bidders are required to be properly licensed, obtain necessary insurance and bonds, and no bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after opening. Procurement and contracting documents are to be ordered online or requested in writing, with refundable deposits and additional charges for extra sets or shipping. Prospective prime bidders are requested to attend the prebid meeting. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities or irregularities, and accept the bid deemed most favorable to their interest after evaluation.
