The City of Chino Hills is soliciting proposals for the Hickory Creek Grant Tree Removal Project. The project involves the removal of declining Eucalyptus trees at Hickory Creek Nature Park, south of Hickory Lane between Rolling Ridge Dr and Pipeline Avenue. The intent is to enhance habitats for birds and wildlife, particularly for the Least Bell's Vireo. Disturbance or removal of the trees is anticipated to occur outside of nesting bird season, as confirmed by a Qualified Biologist, or after confirmation that no nests are present. The City will contract with a Qualified Biologist to assess the site for migratory and nesting birds, and project work will begin only after these assessments are complete. Findings from the Biologist may result in delays or adjustments to the project, and proposers are required to comply with the necessary schedule or cost adjustments as determined by the findings of the Biologist, Regulatory Agencies, and/or the City. Proposers must be lawfully authorized to perform work in the State of California and are responsible for being fully informed of site conditions. Submission of a proposal certifies understanding of all requirements. Proposers must also have the capability to process and report the quantities of green waste and refuse generated from the project, in compliance with AB 939. Submission requirements include providing four bound copies and one electronic copy of the proposal, a separate sealed envelope containing the cost proposal, and a signed W-9. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, request additional information, negotiate modifications, and waive irregularities in the selection process. Proposals must comply with all current federal, state, and other applicable laws.
