Renovation of a municipal facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Items that need to be addressed include but are not limited to (Consultant to verify all requirements): 1. A structure of this size requires four additional down conductors. 2. Existing screws used to secure the cable holders, air termins, the Uni-Strut, etc should be replaced with new stainless-steel screws. 3. Perimeter air terminals on the main roof are spaced too far apart and additional terminals are required. 4. Air terminals either have not been installed on the penthouse roof edges or are spaced too far apart. 5. Air terminals have not been installed on the critical strike point areas. Numerous rooftop mechanical units are unprotected. 6. Rooftop stack required additional air terminals, a second path to ground, cable holders and a bonding connection. The existing lightning protection materials should be removed due to corrosion concerns. The guard raid requires air terminals and bonding connections. 7. The antenna towers shall be bonded to the system. 12. The cooling tower requires air terminals and full-size bonding connections. 13. There are numerous cross-roof intercepting conductors that have been altered by foot traffic on the main roof. The conductors should be straightened, the cable holders should be adhered directly to the roof, cable holder tabs should be folded over the conductors and caution flags and/or tape should be affixed to the conductors in these areas. 14. Numerous conductor bends have been altered "No bend of a conductor shall form an included angle of less than 90 degrees or have a radius of bend less than 8 inches (203mm). 15. Due to the presence of rubber gaskets, bonding connections shall be installed on the air conditioning units as well as the support framework. 16. Bonding connection has been removed from the drain and cable holders are damaged and need repair. 17. New antenna requires an air terminal and a bonding connection. 18. Parallel splicer has been damaged and does not provide a secure connection between the down conductor and the perimeter conductor. 19. Repair/replace broken air terminal on the west main roof. 20.
