Renovation of a municipal facility in Stony Point, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

CR#: 2129160 Description: The existing radon system is to be modified including replacement of fans, suction piping and discharge piping. An additional system will need to be added. Please see attached for the detailed scope of proposed work. The Palisades Region is requesting quotes from approved radon mitigation contractors to include all labor, tools and equipment necessary to complete the project. The Palisades Region is requesting quotes from approved radon mitigation contractors to include all necessary labor, tools and equipment necessary to complete the project as per ANSI AARST Standards. This project is a prevailing wage job and certified payroll must be submitted with each payment. The following systems require work, unless otherwise stated below: o System 1: Maintenance Office/Storage, has 3 extraction points. o System 2: Boiler Room o System 3: Police Department Office o System 4: Detention Center 1. Remove existing radon suction tubes on three of the radon exhaust systems. 2. Remove existing radon fan discharge piping on three units. (The boiler room fan has Schedule 40 suction pipe.) This pipe shall be left in place. This fan and the detective's fan discharge pipe exits thru the roof. The exterior piping will be changed to obtain the 1/8" per foot upward slope. The discharge pipe shall extend up the side of the building to the point where it passes thru the roof surface. The discharge pipe is to be secured to the building with stainless steel standoffs. Remove any unused piping from the job site. 3. Check excavated material under slab at existing suction points for proper voids. 4. Install new Schedule 40 plastic pipe suctions for each of the three fans. Properly seal suction lines with appropriate material. Pipe shall slope upward at 1/8" per foot. 5. Install new discharge piping from existing fans upward to a point 12" above the roof eave. Discharge point to be 10 ft. horizontally and 2 ft. above any window. 6. Discharge piping is to be secured to the building with threaded standoffs up to the roof line. 7. Discharge piping shall be painted to approximate the color of the stone and wood siding. 8. The wiring of the fans must comply with NFPA Code 73 National Electric Code standards. 9. Warning devices shall be installed to alert building occupants of a system failure. Manometers shall be installed on each suction pipe, readily visible, to indicate suction level. 10. Secure radon fans to building with stainless steel brackets and mounting hardware. A new, fifth system, needs to be installed along with two new extraction points, in accordance with the other systems. System 5: Front Storage. The contractor shall perform post testing (within 30) days of system completion for the fans. Additional tests shall be taken after 90 days after completion of the work.
