Engineering services are required for design, permitting, and bid phase services for the construction of a new Legacy Trail Extension pedestrian overpass at Beneva Road. A CCNA Specific Project Agreement is anticipated for the project's duration. Minimum qualifications, detailed scope/specifications, and insurance requirements are referenced in the solicitation documents and attachments. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Description of Work A. The Consultant shall provide engineering design services for a pedestrian overpass, at the intersection of the Legacy Trail Extension and Beneva Road. The bridge width and approaches shall be designed to connect with the existing Legacy Trail Extension and be consistent with the typical sections at that location. The bridge is to be located within the existing boundaries of County-owned land. The design services include, but are not limited to, utility improvements and utility adjustments, drainage improvements, structural walls, safety design, resurfacing, lighting, landscape and hardscape design, signs and signals, temporary traffic control, permitting services and any other necessary improvements. The County's intent is to obtain engineering services supportive of the creation of this overpass, together with those services and features that are reasonably necessary to provide safe and usable structures consistent with the look and feel of the Legacy Trail. B. It is expected that all services, activities, products, and deliverables will be of a quality acceptable for use in permitting with local, state, and federal agencies having jurisdiction over the project. The bridge design shall be consistent with current design and functionality requirements for bridges within Sarasota County and shall meet the applicable requirements of the current American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO LRFD Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Structures Manual. C. The design will consider the existing site constraints, including but not limited to, impacts to local businesses, resident interests, environmental requirements, private property, easements, utilities, geotechnical data and traffic data provided by the County as a basis for the design. D. The Consultant shall provide grant assistance as necessary for the County's funding source which includes a State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Local Agency Program (LAP) Grant. E. The Consultant shall provide support services with community stakeholder management, engage in public meetings, neighborhood homeowner association meetings and prepare alternatives and graphic support renderings for public outreach. 10.67% DBE goal
