The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is requesting bids for Forest Theater stage repairs. Work includes removing and replacing the existing plywood stage flooring, compromised tongue-and-groove subfloor, and any compromised 2x6 framing members with pressure-treated lumber, including plywood. The stage measures roughly 4,000 sq. ft, and bidders should assume replacement of all plywood decking and approximately 20% (800 sq. ft) of the substructure. The theater is in a public park that will remain accessible to the public during construction, and the contractor must ensure clean, safe public access around the construction zone and laydown area, including adequate site protection to keep pedestrians out of these areas. There will be a mandatory site tour at the Outdoor Forest Theater. Attendance at the site tour is required; failure to attend may result in rejection of the bid. All questions must be submitted in writing by email, and responses will be posted as an addendum on the City website. Bids must be submitted by the specified deadline, accompanied by a 10% bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check.
