Butler County is currently preparing design information to replace the bridge at the above referenced location. Butler County is requesting proposals for geotechnical services for this bridge replacement project. See the attached Bridge Inspection Report for a description of the existing structure. The existing structure and roadway profile provide an adequate level of service. Therefore, there will be minimal roadway profile change and a similarly sized bridge opening. Proposed bridge structure shall have a 30 roadway width. Preliminary superstructure is a simple steel beam span (WBMS). Preliminary substructure is a U-shaped concrete abutment on driven H-piling. Bridge design shall be for HL-93 loading. Geotechnical Engineering Service Consultant will perform a complete geotechnical investigation to support the design of the bridge replacement. Total of two subsurface borings are required, near the north and south ends of the existing concrete bridge structure. Provide geotechnical report including boring logs, soil descriptions and classifications, groundwater elevations and laboratory test results.
