The project is located in a wooded area along Sussex Creek between Silver Spring Drive and Clover Drive. The work consists of clearing and grubbing, earthwork, placement of aggregates and pavements, trail construction and bridge along and across Sussex Creek. Significant types of work for which bids are requested include: clearing and grubbing, fence removal, common excavation, base aggregate placement, HMA pavement for driveway and path, installation of a concrete pedestrian curb and retaining wall including stainless-steel railing, removal and replacement of concrete driveway and sidewalk, installation of a trail bridge, signing, erosion control, traffic control, construction staking, and restoration. This is a unit price contract with all work included in a single prime contract. Bids shall be on the form provided and according to the bidding requirements. Bids must include a five percent (5%) bid security. Bidders are required to submit a full and complete statement of financial ability, equipment, experience in the work, and a list of proposed subcontractors and suppliers indicating the class of work each will perform. The selected contractor will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the full amount of the contract price. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, and to select the bid which best suits its needs.
