Description

Site work for a development in Mobile, Alabama. Conceptual plans call for site work for a one-story above grade development.

Provide Engineering Services to design a system of bioswales on campus to mitigate stormwater runoff and sediment transport to nearby Three Mile Creek. Services should include but are not limited to survey, engineering and design, construction administration, etc. The area of interest includes sites previously evaluated by USA faculty in Mobile, Alabama. Estimate design and construction of up to 1,000 linear feet including incorporation of native vegetation. A site visit is highly recommended to confirm required quantities. Proposal should cover basic design services per the Department of Construction Management’s Architect/Engineer Owner Agreement, using a fixed fee that includes reimbursables. The design must incorporate bioswales to reduce stormwater runoff into the Three Mile Creek watershed, a demolition plan for removal of any invasive plant species identified, and required permanent signage on construction drawings. Low Impact Development (LID) principles—slow it down, spread it out, and soak it in—are highly encouraged.
