Emerald Lakes is an upcoming planned development with Phase under review. This primary phase will be planned for a resort style accommodation with multiple surrounding residential planned subdivisions. The response time from the current unit (Engine 4) will be over 8-10 minutes. This is the closest firefighting unit at over 5 miles away. There will need to be proactive thought in fire/EMS protection. Land acquisition is TBD. Facilities has provided FFE & IT expenses for Fire Station 8 in the amount of $350,000. We were advised that Station 9 will be 1.5 times larger than Station 8 so we should adjust our FFE accordingly. That would add $175,000 to the projected costs totaling $525,000. Station 8's expenses are used as a template of costs for upcoming station builds. Prior year costs include IT equipment such as Mach Alert. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of December 12, 2025, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
