The City of Woodstock, Georgia, herein referred to as the City, is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the purpose of roadway, drainage, utility, and traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Main Street and Elm Street in order to add a raised crosswalk, close off Elm Street to one way traffic, and extend the left turn lane on Main Street for Mill Street traffic, hereinafter referred to as the Project. This includes but is not limited to roadway resurfacing, stormwater drainage and piping, concrete sidewalk, thermoplastic striping, and signalized crosswalk. The City of Woodstock, Georgia reserves the right to reject any and all responses resulting from this RFB. Late responses will not be accepted. If no acceptable bid is received, the City also reserves the right to resolicit bids, at its sole discretion. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after time has been called on the date of opening. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond of a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Georgia, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Upon the award of this RFB, the contractor shall provide the City with: A 100% project value performance and payment bonds pursuant to O.C.G.A. 36-91-70 and 90. Bidder hereby agrees to commence work under this contract on or before a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" of the City and to fully complete the project within ninety (90) consecutive calendar days; bidder further agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $250 per each consecutive calendar day that the Contractor shall be in default after the date stipulated in the Contract for completing work. All bidders must hold an active prequalification status with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) prior to submission of the bid. Subcontractors shall be prequalified or registered with GDOT.
