A multi-phased replacement of Fire Station 43. The existing fire station, built in 1974 and heavily modified since, suffers from frequent floods, sewer backups, and does not meet current health and safety standards. The project involves a fifteen-month construction period, with temporary relocation of Station 43 staff, vehicles, equipment, and bunk rooms to the Silver Star Search and Rescue Building, which will first undergo improvements for this purpose. The work also includes demolition of the existing Fire Station 43, demolition of existing site pavement, and excavation of existing soils. Additionally, improvements to the City of Washougal Police Station-directly west of Fire Station 43-are required. The proposed new Fire Station 43 and Police Station will be joined architecturally, both exterior and interior. The Police Station program includes a new Community/Training Room, Lobby, Fitness Room, and Break Room. The Police Station will remain operational throughout demolition and construction, requiring extensive coordination for police staff, squad cars, temporary contractor facilities, and subcontractor vehicles. Bids must be fully completed using the provided bid form. The owner may reject any or all bids, and waive informalities. Bidders cannot withdraw or modify bids for thirty days after opening. Minimum wages must comply with state requirements, and disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to participate and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, or national origin.
