Scope of work generally consists of removing and disposal of existing 90lb rail and replacing with new 115lb rail. Work also includes the addition of new transloading rail track on the east side of Rincon Road, and extension of three existing tracks on the west side of Rincon Road and one track on the east side of Rincon Road. This is a lump sum bid item and contract. Bidder must submit a bid bond or cashier's check for 5% of the total amount of the bid. Performance and Payment Bonds are required when the successful bidder executes this contract, each for 100% of the total contract amount. One (1) original signed bid package must be received in a sealed envelope marked as directed and addressed to the appropriate authority at the given address. Bids may not be faxed or emailed. Bids submitted by express mail service must be in a sealed envelope inside the express mail packaging. The authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids received. The work generally consists of extending three (3) three existing rail tracks (#735, 736 and 737) on west side of Rincon Road. Any bidder who is in doubt as to the meaning of any part of the Contract Documents may submit a written request through the PCCA Procurement website for an interpretation of the part of the Contract Documents in question. The written request must be received at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the date that Bids are to be opened. Written requests for interpretation received less than seven (7) days before the time set for opening Bids will not be considered unless PCCA determines an addendum to be in its interests; in which case, a posted response will be uploaded on the PCCA Procurement website in response to the late request for an interpretation of the Contract Documents will be sent to the bidders.
