Renovation of a mixed-use development in Lafayette, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility; and one-story above grade educational facility.
Sealed proposals are requested for the re-roofing of Bob Harding-Shawmut Gymnasium and Inspire Academy. All general contractors must visit the site and examine existing conditions before submitting a proposal, with arrangements made through the school. General liability and workman's compensation insurance are required. Bids must exclude taxes and be submitted on forms provided by the architect. No bids may be withdrawn for ninety days after the deadline. The owner may reject any or all proposals and waive technical errors if considered in the owner's best interest. A certified check or bid bond, payable to Chambers County Schools, for at least 5% of the bid amount (not to exceed $10,000) must accompany each bid. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds are required at contract signing. Bidders exceeding limits set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be properly licensed, with license number displayed on the sealed envelope. Project documents are available online and can be reviewed or printed by contractors and suppliers. Addendums are sent to confirmed bidders. To request printed sets, bidders must contact the architect via email and return sets within ten days after bid opening in reusable condition.
