The WORK includes but is not limited to:. The project includes improvements to Rainier Avenue from Sonoma Mountain Parkway to N McDowell Avenue. The improvements consist of stormwater utility improvements, concrete and sidewalk improvements, pavement restoration, installation of a new roundabout, and striping and signage improvements. The stormwater utility improvements consist of 180LF of 8" HDPE storm drain pipe, a new storm drain manhole, and the installation of new catch basins. The flatwork minor concrete improvements consists of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, case A and C curb ramps, and traffic islands. The pavement restoration includes cold planing/grinding, full depth reclamation with cement, utility adjustments, and a 4" asphalt concrete overlay. There will also be a new roundabout installed at the intersection of Rainier Ave and Maria Drive. The roundabout work consists of minor concrete islands, stamped brick concrete, removal and replacement of curb ramps, installation of a recycled water service, and truncated domes. The traffic striping improvements include a road diet from Sonoma Mountain Parkway to N McDowell Avenue. The street will also include the installation of new bike lanes with protected bike lanes on one side and new striped parking areas with a bike lane adjacent to the curb. Additional traffic improvements include new crosswalks, rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs), a 6" AC bike buffer berm, and signal modifications at McDowell Avenue. The site of the WORK is located: Rainier Avenue from Sonoma Mountain Parkway to N McDowell. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond executed by an admitted surety in the amount of 10% percent of the Total Bid Price payable to the City of Petaluma as a guarantee that the Bidder, if its Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. A Bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of Bidder's security is enclosed with it. Upon acceptance of the Bid, if the Bidder refuses to or fails to promptly execute the Agreement the Bidder's security shall be forfeited to the CITY. The CITY reserves the right to reject all or any part of all bids submitted, waive informalities and irregularities, and will not, to the extent allowed by law, be bound to accept the lowest bid.
