This work involves the construction of the Elmira Water Board High Reservoir Watermain Project. The scope of work includes installing 1,490 feet of 30-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (Class 52), 1,310 feet of 24-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (Class 52), and all required connections, valves, and vaults as depicted in the project details. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope labeled for the project. Each bid must include a bid bond deposit equal to five percent (5%) of the total gross sum bid; cash is not accepted. Instructions to bidders include mandatory registration with the issuing office to download bidding documents or to obtain printed copies for a fee. Printed documents may be picked up by appointment, and shipping is available for an additional fee. Only payments by check or money order are accepted for printed documents; cash will not be accepted. Air relief and disinfection sampling ports shall be provided at all watermain dead ends, distribution system high points and at intervals no greater than 1,000 lineal feet. Work includes trench excavation, 30" DIP pipe installation, pipe bedding, warning tape, trench backfill, compaction, and disposal of excess soil. Bid item work is located on Plan Sheet C6 through C8. Work includes 85 LF of cured-in-place pipe rehabilitation of pressurized potable watermain into the high service reservoir, trench excavation, pipe bedding, warning tape, two 45-degree elbows, trench backfill, all surface restoration, disposal of excess soil, and all other pipe and fittings to complete the connection to existing system. Bid item work is located on Plan Sheet C6 and C9. Refer to Plan Sheets C13 and Specification Section 33 01 30 for details. Work includes trench excavation, pipe bedding, warning tape, 30" dia. Butterfly valve, 2" dia. chlorine feed tap, 2" dia. finished water feed tap, (2) 2" dia. sample taps, extend chlorine feed from the existing vault, extend finished water feed from the existing vault, supply and installing concrete vault around new 30" watermain, hatches, and lids, trench backfill, all surface restoration, disposal of excess soil, and all other pipe and fittings to complete the connection to existing system.
