Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Iuka, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.

Separate and sealed bids or electronic bids for the construction of 2024 SRF Sewer Improvements, Contract 1 - Lift Station Rehabilitations, SRF Project No. C280 822-02 will be received by the City of Iuka at City Hall, 118 South Pearl Street, Iuka, MS 38852, until 10:00 A.M. local time on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, and then publicly opened and read aloud. The project consists of the rehabilitation of 5 duplex submersible lift stations, 2 duplex grinder stations, 7 simplex grinder stations, and appurtenant items. Build American, Buy American (BABA) regulations apply. The contract will be awarded as an entire job and individual items will not be let for separate work. Each bidder must deposit with their bid security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Bidders submitting electronically must submit either a bond issued by the Surety in electronic format or the original hard copy of the bid bond to City Hall prior to bid opening. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the opening. Upon execution of the contract, the Contractor shall furnish surety bonds as specified. All applicable laws, ordinances, and rules of authorities having jurisdiction shall apply. Each bidder is responsible for inspecting the site and being thoroughly familiar with the contract documents. Conditional or qualified bids will not be accepted. Award will be made to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids. Minority and women's business enterprises are solicited to bid as prime contractors and are encouraged to inquire about subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material, or supply needs. Contract documents are issued to potential bidders from Plan House Printing and only bids by those whose names appear on the official list of planholders will be accepted. Work under this section shall consist of furnishing materials, labor and equipment to install, connect and complete the sewage lift station rehabilitation and all items of work appurtenant thereto. It is the intent of the specifications that in all particulars, the workmanship, methods and materials of construction shall conform to the best practice and that the equipment and accessories as furnished and installed shall be complete and ready to operate. The contractor shall be responsible for furnishing, installing, and testing all equipment required for the construction of this project. Mobilization shall consist of moving all labor, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the project site and removing same after all the work under the contract has been completed. It shall also include all mobilization preconstruction costs which are necessary direct costs to the project and are of a general nature rather than directly attributable to other pay items. A. Work under this section shall consist of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor to perform the work as indicated on the construction drawings, specified herein and required to complete the work. B. Work includes the admixture of cementitious crystalline materials into the concrete mix at the batch plant for waterproofing both cast-in-place and precast concrete structures as indicated on the construction drawings and specified herein. C. Concrete structures required for cementitious crystalline admixture are as follows: 1. Clarifier 2. Wet Wells 3. Manholes 4. Miscellaneous cast-in-place hydraulic structures, such as pits and containment structures. A. This section includes all items necessary for and incidental to the execution and completion of a complete and operative electrical system for lighting and power, and of miscellaneous systems and equipment, all as indicated on all the drawings and as specified in all sections herein. B. The CONTRACTOR (as defined in General Conditions) typically elects to have an Electrical Subcontractor (see Subcontractor in the General Conditions) to execute this work. The General Conditions define their contractual roles. The following assumes that a Electrical subcontractor is executing this work for the CONTRACTOR, if not then all mentions of Electrical Subcontractor become the CONTRACTOR. C. The Electrical Subcontractor is encouraged to read "Concerning Subcontractors:" beginning with Article 6.10 in the General Conditions. The effective Contractor shall supply and install the SPD System as described in the following specifications, application details and installation requirements. The SPD (Surge Protection Device) System, formally know as TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppression) as herein defined for AC electrical circuits, shall be incorporated into the AC Power Service Entry, Motor Control Centers, Main and Sub-distribution power panels, and other electrical system equipment a herein described. A cascading high energy, low impedance SPD protection 'grid' is critical to the prevention and dynamic mitigation of the destructive effects of lighting induced currents, utility and substation switching surges and transients. The SPD System is also intended to provide virtual isolation of all downline AC circuits and sensitive, critical components from internally generated surges and spikes. About 80% of typical power hazards result from internal and nearby inductive and capacitive load switching, and other proximity circuitry hazards affects from within the facility. Rigid SPD design, testing, specifying, and critical installation techniques must be followed to provide effective, long-term preventive solutions. This item shall consist of the removal and satisfactory disposal of all concrete, reinforcing steel, trees, limbs, and stumps; all pole stubs, roots, vegetation, rubbish, saw-dust, or any other material within the limits of the work; and, the removal of any and all structures and/or obstructions, shown on the plans or encountered during construction, which interfere with construction; it shall also include the protection and preservation from injury or defacement of designated trees, shrubs or plants; all in accordance with the provisions and requirements of these specifications and as indicated on the plans. A. This item shall consist of the provision of crushed stone, selected borrow material, washed gravel and clay gravel for incorporation into the work as specified elsewhere or directed. B. The Contractor shall furnish certified test reports of the proposed materials and gradations prior to incorporation into the work. The Contractor shall furnish and install all parts and components necessary for the sewage lift station rehabilitation. The rehabilitated grinder pump station shall operate in the fully automatic mode with proper pump sequence and alternation. This item shall also include connecting piping, electrical service, concrete pad and other miscellaneous work and equipment not specifically listed but necessary to provide a complete operating installation. Rehabilitate the following existing Duplex Grinder Pump Stations where noted on the construction drawings. See construction drawings for respective station information.
