Chiller Replacement at Shawnee Elementary ITB 17.2526B. Project Description Chippewa Valley Schools (herein known as "District") is seeking sealed bids from qualified professionals for the replacement of a chiller at Shawnee Elementary School, located at 21555 Vesper, Macomb, MI 48044, in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions stated herein. The District will base the award on several evaluation factors, in no particular order, including but not limited to, meeting bid specifications, pricing, product selection and availability, references, and delivery time schedule. Contractors are encouraged to submit proposals covering the entire scope of services. The District will award a single contract to one Contractor, who will be responsible for all aspects for the replacement of the chiller. The determination will be made at the sole discretion of the District. Background Shawnee Elementary currently operates two (2) air-cooled chillers that provide cooling for the facility. The District is seeking proposals to furnish and install one (1) new, reliable, and energy-efficient chiller to replace an existing unit, with all work completed by July 2026. In addition, to the base bid for a single chiller replacement, the District requests pricing for Alternate 1, which includes the replacement of both existing chillers. This alternate option will allow the District to evaluate the cost-benefit of completing both replacements under a single contract. This is to include all charges, but not limited to, costs such as freight surcharges, offloading equipment, required permits, cranes and other equipment. Any other charges to be for District's consideration must be asked by Bidder during Question/Inquiry time period and addressed via Addendum. o Remove one (1) existing air-cooled chiller and associated base pump. o Install one (1) new air-cooled scroll water chiller with packaged pump system. o Reconfigure piping within the boiler room as required. o Provide all necessary electrical connections, controls integration, and testing. o Include selective demolition of existing mechanical and electrical components as indicated. o Provide insulation, identification, and labeling for all new piping and equipment. o Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC systems. o Provide glycol solution and water treatment per specifications. o Furnish all required permits and schedule inspections with the State of Michigan Bureau of Construction Codes. o Provide training for District's personnel and complete all closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals. o Provide a one-year warranty on all work and equipment. o Include all temperature control work. o Include all electrical worklternate 1 o Remove both existing air-cooled chillers and base pumps. o Install two (2) new air-cooled chillers with packaged pump systems. o Complete piping reconfiguration for both units within the boiler room. o Include all work noted in the Base Bid for both chillers.
