The work consists of the construction of approximately 897 feet of 12'inch SDR 35 PVC Sewer Pipe, 99 feet of 6-inch C 900 Sewer Pipe, 4- 48-inch Sanitary Manholes, and 38 feet of 15-inch corrugated metal culvert pipe; and all appurtenances necessary to direct the flow of wastewater from the lime lagoon overflow structures to the existing sanitary sewer network along Meridian Street. Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Marion Utility Service Board, or an acceptable bidder's bond by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana, in an amount of not less than 5% of said bid, said deposit being for the purpose of ensuring the execution of the contract for which said bid is made. Any proposal not accompanied by the above required items may be deemed to be a non-responsive bid by the Owner. No consideration for escalation of prices can be considered, and therefore contractors are advised not to include any such escalation clauses in their proposals for this project. The Contractor to whom work is awarded shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, acceptable to the Marion Utility Service Board in the amount of 100% of the contract price. No bidder may withdraw his Proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving Proposals. The Utility Service Board reserves the right to retain any and all Proposals for a period of not more than 90 days, and said Proposals shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Marion Utility Service Board further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder or bidders, all to the advantage of the Marion Utility Service Board, or to reject all Proposals.
