Sealed Contract Bidsfor the Award of a Contract for the Construction on Roadway Improvements on Derby Street and Comanche Drive. The work shall consist of the road rehabilitation and construction of pedestrian facilities. Additional work will include selective demolition within the roadway and along adjacentsidewalks, protection and modificationsto existing manhole and utility structures, installation of new curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, and installation of new traffic striping and signage. Project Location: Derby Street between Sycamore Road and State Route 223, and Comanche Drive between Sycamore Road and Varsity Avenue in Arvin, California The primary components (regardless of design package) are generally described as follows (list is not all inclusive): 1. Selective demolition including sawcutting of existing asphalt and concrete surfaces throughout the project site. 2. Removal of demolished materials and transportation to an appropriate landfill or other receiving facility. 3. Temporary pedestrian and traffic control with temporary striping as necessary. 4. Coordination with residents and business owner's adjacent to the project boundaries. 5. Striping and signage. 6. Construction of new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, drive approaches and curb ramps; removal and disposal of existing concrete as necessary. 7. Protect existing above grade or underground utility structures as necessary. 8. Adjust utility manholes, valves, etc. to grade. 9. Other related work as shown and specified. Engineer's estimate of cost: $3,000,000 to $3,500,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
