Renovation of an educational facility in Deerfield, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The work is to be performed at: Charles J. Caruso Middle School Alan B. Shepard Middle School 1801 Montgomery Road 440 Grove Avenue Deerfield, Illinois 60015 Deerfield, Illinois 60015 Renovation work of existing classrooms, office spaces, faculty lounge, toilet rooms, and corridors. Interior finishes (i.e. painting, gypsum board, doors/frames/hardware, suspended ceiling system(s), flooring, casework, lockers, signage). Masonry work (interior & exterior). Building Envelope work including roofing, windows, spandrel panels, composite soffit panels, and exterior steel painting. Structural steel & concrete work including structural steel reinforcement & mechanical screening. Elevator Modernization work. Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical work. Provide training and video recordings for all mechanical/HVAC equipment and operations. Refer to Project Manual Section 01 79 00 -- Demonstration and Training for requirements. Start Date: MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2026 Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as noted in the Advertisement for Bids. Such Bid Security shall be in the form of a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Proposal. All checks and Bonds shall be made in favor of the Owner. Failure to submit the proper form and amount of Bid Security may result in rejection of the bid. Bid Bonds must be issued by the same company that provides the subsequent Performance and Payment Bonds. A Bid Security of 10% of the Bid is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates for all work per Illinois Law. Time is of the essence. Project completion is extremely critical. The work is to be substantially complete by Friday, August 7, 2026 at 3:00PM The Contractor agrees that by submitting a bid, he realizes he may need to work multiple shifts, weekends and holidays. All premium wages are included in his bid. Days are noted as calendar days. The Contractor has full access to the site every day for 24 hours, including weekends and holidays. The Architect and Owner will determine if the Contractor has met the deadline for enforcement of liquidated damages. The Architect and Owner's decision on this is final. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES ARE AS FOLLOWS: FROM AUGUST 8, 2026 TO AUGUST 14, 2026, FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 dollars ($500.00) per calendar day until the actual date of Substantial Completion is achieved, as defined in the Contract Documents. FROM AUGUST 15, 2026 TO AUGUST 21, 2026, ONE THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,000.00) per calendar day until the actual date of Substantial Completion is achieved, as defined in the Contract Documents. FROM AUGUST 22, 2026 AND THEREAFTER, ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,500.00) per calendar day until the actual date of Substantial Completion is achieved, as defined in the Contract Documents. Deerfield Public Schools District 109 reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive irregularities in the bidding procedure, or accept the Bid that in its opinion will serve its best interest. Any such decision shall be considered final. The Owner reserves the right to set aside a Bid from a Contractor who, in the Owner's opinion, does not exhibit past experience equal to the size and scope of this project.
