The project involves providing and installing an engineered truss roof system and metal roofing (corrugated/painted) over two forty-foot town-owned shipping containers at the Highway Department complex. The containers are spaced to create an overall width of fifty-two feet. The garage bay must have a thirty-six-foot clear opening with a fourteen-foot ceiling height. A curtain wall at the rear of the open garage bay, sheathed and sided with painted corrugated metal roofing, is required. The roof truss will have a minimum 6/12 pitch and an overhang of at least eighteen inches, attached mechanically to the containers to meet applicable building codes for wind and snow load. All fascia, soffit, and eave trims must be synthetic or painted metal. The Highway Department will provide any additional foundation for the curtain wall. No electrical or painting work is required. The contractor must obtain a building permit and supply stamped engineered drawings before work begins. Subcontractors must be pre-approved. All bids must be on company letterhead stating a firm price and any design changes must go through a change order process. The work must be performed by the contractor's own personnel under the direction of the Highway Superintendent. The Town reserves the right to modify specifications as necessary. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, general liability, and motor vehicle liability each with a minimum of $1,000,000 coverage, naming the Town as an additional insured.
