The Village of Sugar Mountain is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform Hurricane Helene repairs to Timber Ridge Road. The project will include, but is not limited to: o Asphalt milling, removal, and replacement o Placement, grading, and compaction of base materials o Pavement resurfacing and patching o Repair or reconstruction of road shoulders and side slopes o Removal, installation, and/or replacement of drainage structures, including culverts, ditches, and storm drains o Erosion control and stabilization as required o Provision and maintenance of traffic control measures consistent with NCDOT and MUTCD standards o Other roadway repair services as may be specified Each bid must include the following: 1. The completed Unit Rate Sheet from Exhibit B of the attached contract. 2. Proof of insurance and licensure 3. Proof of ability to provide Performance Bond Bids that satisfy the insurance, licensure, and provide proof of ability to provide the Performance Bond requirements will then be evaluated based on the following: o Cost proposal The Village of Sugar Mountain reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or irregularities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the organization. Extent of earthwork is indicated on drawings. Preparation ofsubgrade for curb and gutter and pavements as well as slope repair is included as part ofthis work. Definition: "Excavation" consists of removal of material encountered to subgrade elevations indicated and subsequent disposal ofmaterials removed. The extent of work under this item includes the placement of aggregate base course and bituminous concrete pavement. Bituminous concrete paving shall also mean bituminous paving, asphalt, or asphalt concrete as may be used in other sections ofthe specifications or drawings. The extent of the work required under this section is that required to minimize water, air, and noise pollution and soil erosion and siltation. Temporary erosion control measures which may be necessary include, but are not limited to, temporary berms, dikes, dams, drainage ditches, silt basins, silt ditches, silt fences, rip rap, perimeter swales, slope drains, structures, vegetation, mulches, mats, netting, gravel or any other methods or devices that are necessary to control or restrict erosion. Temporary erosion control measures may include work outside the right-of-way or construction limits where such work is necessary as a result of construction such as borrow pit operations, haul roads, plant sites, equipment storage sites, and disposal of waste or debris. The Contractor shall be liable for all damages to public or private property caused by silting or slides originating in waste areas furnished by the Contractor.
